The First 1967 383 A-Body, 'Barracuda or Mr. Norms's Dart'
as to a "68 M-Code Barracuda" there WERE NO such production vehicles produced. in mid-1969 Plymouth put a 440 into their A-body and called the car a "Cuda." the "Cuda" was a special marketing/performance option package that year which included special stripping and a 340, or 383 engine. they produced around 360 440 equipped fastbacks and coupes in this configuration which had a "M" in the fifth position of the VIN code. the M-Code cars also did not have the same warranty coverage as the regular production cars. so as to Plymouth, 440 A-Bodies were called "Cudas" and they were only available in the 1969 model year.
