1967 barracuda 340 build...clutch & flywheel
CenterForce pressure plate, and factory 340 disc.
You will love the easy-on your-leg diaphram pp. And the 340 disc has a wonderful personality. Its smooth engaging, easy to modulate, takes a lot of abuse, and when you dump it somewhere north of 3000 that CF really puts the clamp on.
Yeah,I have noticed the flyweights in the CF do on occasion cause a minor imbalance. I chased that vibration around for quite a while. Theres an easy cure for it though.Firstly it only shows up occasionally, ands its very minor and only at the lower rpms; say 1800 to 2800 or so. The cure is just to push the clutch in, blip the throttle to above 2800, and let the clutch out again.Problem usually solved.
I only notice it while cruising, as my O/D brings the Rs down to 2300@60 mph.
Its a great! clutch. I had other 3-finger clutches. Aint going back.
The CFII disc is IMO, too harsh for street.
