Laptop Dying! suggestions?

Well its been over a monrh since I started having problems with this computer. I brought my extra laptop in from the shed that I used for my golf swing practicing but this one is at least 8 years old and its very slow for surfing. So I decided to try a chromebook. I bought the Toshiba Chromebook 2 / Celeron N2840 / 13.3" 1080p / 4GB / 16GB SSD / Intel HD.
I havent received it yet but hoping it shows up tomorrow. I have no experience with this type of computer or the chrome OS operating system and all this cloud stuff but I guess I will learn. I figured I can use this computer if I need a microsoft program such as excel or word until I learn what the programs from the cloud are like and how they operate. Going to be a fun learning experience at my age since I am not computer savy! Hopefully if I need help some of you here at FABO has some knowledge.
