USPS has........

It seems that there are many issues with the post office, from the sheer volume of mail and PP they deal with on a daily basis, to the quality of the personal they are forced to keep on staff, to the inflexibility of it's management staff, to the financial looses the suffer daily, and a thousand more things.

All in all, considering the amount of pieces they handle daily, and the number of issues they have working against them, I suppose they do a decent job at making these deliveries.

Keep in mind that at one time, they were the only way of moving mail and packages small enough to be delivered by a mail carrier. With the advent of UPS, FedEx, RDS, DHL, and so many other package deliver services who's hands are not tied by government bureaucracy, and ridiculous hiring restraints like Affirmative Action, and such, which applies hiring and promotion quotas based on race and sex, instead of qualifications, and it becomes easier to see why such an entity would continuously have difficulty fulfilling it's mission statement.

The private sector companies have a much easier time of things because they aren't required to meet the same restrictive policies the Post office has to deal with on an hourly basis. That, and the fact that the post office STILL has more daily stops to make than just about all it's private sector competitors, combines, and is forced to do so at a lose of revenue, daily.

While I'm not truly satisfied with the quality of the service TODAY'S post office offers, I do appreciate that they are forced to deal with the artificial restraints the Federal Government places on them.
