Stop in for a cup of coffee
No, this is my second sleep "break". :glasses7:
I cooked an 18 lb ham for dinner, and gave the dog many scraps. In tern he was very thirsty and drank a bunch of water before bed. So I'm letting him out a little more often tonight so I don't get any wet carpets.... :pale:
He's a good dog, and rarely has an accident. he will wake me up if he has to go bad enough, but he also will wake me up just so he can go out and look for a raccoon or coyote to chase. I tell him that "he's playing me" when he does that and give him a talking to. Sometimes I will call him out if he has just gone out within the last hour and not let him out. He can get pushy sometimes and I have to keep him in check or he will boss ME around....
A moth ago he was getting pushy and I refused to let him out when I was watching tv in the living room. Then I hear "the squishing sound" from the back of the room... He had the runs and couldn't hold it... #-o
So I quickly sent him out and cleaned the carpet... He called my bluff... My fault.. :banghead:
Sometimes he will get me to let him out, and he will just pee a couple of drops so I don't yell at him for playing me. He knows that if he goes to the bathroom I won't give him **** (pun intended), and will act like he had to go, when he really just wanted to look for some "action" to chase... I know better, I've had Dalmatians since I was born and am wise to their tricks. They are very clever and will manipulate you whenever possible.
Another trick of his is to go outside and then go to the kitchen when I let him in. He wants me to eat something because he always gets the last bite. So he tries to get me to eat every time that I let him out by running to the kitchen after I let him in. I have to call him out on that also sometimes... :evil3:
I point out to him that he has dry food in his bowl and he can eat that, but he'd rather have the "good stuff" that we eat. :D
So when he sees me starting to cook dinner, he will then eat some of his food from his bowl to show that he's eating his food, so I can now give him some of mine as a reward... :farao:
