How hard is it?

Easier - six in one, half dozen in the other. Cheaper - maybe a little, but you'll get what you pay for.
i called Dr. Diff (Cass) ordered new everything - gears, bearings (and new green bearings for my axles), and spool (probably not your thing) sent to my door - under $500 plus $175 for professional local setup.
