Model T Ford video

Model T was a POS in many ways as it first appeared. But it also was AHEAD in many ways.

Since the transmission was planetary, this could be claimed as the forerunner of automatic transmissions

And, it had a COIL FOR EACH SPARK PLUG. Hummmmm, where we see that?

I got to ride in a T a few summers ago. Was looking at it in a parking lot, a pickup. Guy comes out and asked me, nearly INSISTED that he take me for a ride. His is NOT stock. He DRIVES it!!! Been converted to distributor ignition and an accessory drive for a 12V alternator, added an overdrive

His car WAS MADE IN CANADA. I was astounded. It has "Canada" cast into the cylinder head and the running boards.

There were so many things Ford, did to speed things up, and save money. For example, the transmissions were made off premises. The were crated and shipped to the assembly plant. There they were un-crated, and after the trans was installed into the chassis, the boards that made up the box the transmission came in were installed as the "floor boards" if the car, just prior to the body being dropped onto the chassis.
