Item Description:

I have a 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback for sale. The condition of this car can be described as an incomplete rolling chassis that will need a full restoration. I am the third owner of this car and it was originally ordered with the 225 inclined 6 cylinder, 904 automatic, & 7 1/4" rear differential. This Barracuda currently does not have an engine or transmission in it. The mileage on the clear title in my name for the car is 86,354.00

This is some of the work that had been performed to the car leading up to the condition it is in as it currently sits listed for sale...

•Sheet Metal

Practically every single bolt(s)/ part(s) to the car had been removed from this barracuda and I had the body stripped down to bare metal. The only area of sheet metal that hasn't been stripped to metal is the portion of sheet metal directly underneath the interior floor pans. The underneath gas tank, rear differential location, and both front/ rear wheel tubs had been stripped to metal, primed, seems filled for waterproofing, and undercoated. Every inch of the body's interior/ trunk/ firewall/ headliner sheet metal areas had been stripped to metal, primed/ seems filled, and then painted.

The previous owner explained that the heater core had leaked antifreeze onto the floor pan and over time as the car sat in his driveway it rusted the front passenger side floor away. The entire frame of the car is intact and never rusted out by any means. I welded in areas of the floor board/ firewall/ trunk with thicker than stock gauge cold-rolled steel that I cut to fit however, I never finished some areas where the sheet metal still needs to be replaced. The rear lower quarter panels and front lower fenders need to be patched.

I have since then partially re-assembled the barracuda and it sits on all four wheels...

•Rear Suspension

An original 8 1/4" rear differential from a late model A-body. It is a non-sure grip & the gear ratio is unknown although, I'm almost positive that this 8 1/4 is the carrier that can accept the popular lower gear ratios, (3.55, 3.73, 4.10 etc...). The 8 1/4 will need one of its spider gear shims replaced because it has a tiny chip in it, other than that it spins freely and does not leak fluid. The shock plates & U-bolts are original 3" axle housing size mopar A-body parts. I have installed two new KYB gas shocks. The leaf springs are new from firm feel, they were called "road race" leaf springs and the part number on them is the same as the mopar circle track springs. The rear brakes/ hardware are new and they are 1993-1998 jeep Cherokee rear discs that directly bolted on without modification. I made the rear brake line with professional tools and it is stainless steel. The leaf spring hangers are the adjustable height style and the rear leaf spring shackles are the HD style from firm feel. I would recommend replacing the bushings in at least one of the rear shackles because I had accidently tore one when installing the shackles.

•Front Suspension

The front suspension is still the stock 1967 k-member and it is in need of a complete rebuild. I only re-assembled it back together just the point where the car sits on the front wheels and the front wheels can turn together without a steering column.

•Interior

I installed an excellent condition headliner from a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback and the only difference between this and the original 1967 headliner is the perforated pattern. The back seat is original with only one small thread tear. The fold down hinge is broken on one side but you can still fold the seat up and down. I painted the sheet metal areas with a nice texture black finish. The dash pad is from a late model A-Body that has been dyed black. Minor areas of the floor pan had been modified for aftermarket bucket seat fitment. I have installed an original A-Body clutch/ brake pedal housing with XV Motorsports aluminum pedal pads. All windows roll up and down perfectly with the exception of the rear driver side quarter window which requires help to roll it up and down. I temporarily re-installed the original front windshield with foam sealant just for the time being incase the dash ever has to come out again. The rear windshield is professionally installed with a new 1967 style rear windshield gasket. The car is missing the carpet, front seat(s), gauges, steering column, both front door panels, etc...

You will need to view all images of the car so you can clearly see the condition of the car and know what to expect. You may contact me through personal message on this site for more images and information about the car.

If you are in the market for a total build project the good part about choosing this car is that you won't have to deal with loosening rusted tight bolts or have a ton of leftover parts cluttering up your garage space. The majority of this barracudas restoration aspect can be viewed as finishing the project exactly how you want it built.
