what block do i have?

went to check my casting numbers today was only able to get the front number they read gm318r35140 what block is this the guy who was helping me my sisters husband is a mechanic he says its a GM block iv never heard of a GM 318 could he be reading the G mistaken for a 6? i looked at it and cant really tell, when i bought it the guy said it was a 318 i assumed Chrysler, anything else i can look at that would be give aways, let me know.
 
On the drivers side of the block is the casting number, the engine size is cast into the block ie. 273, 318, 340, etc
 
Take a picture of the engine and post it. It will be able to narrow down the possibilities.

Front of the block just under the head gasket line should be stamped there... Definitely a mopar engine.
 
ok i found out what is its G was the code for 71' M was where it was made, this block is 1971 march 22 318, to get a picture of the code your asking about its GM318R 3514 0--- is all i could make out
 
haha Dart i new it was a 318 but i wanted to know if it was before or after 72, so i could get a rough idea of the bottom end in it, then my sisters husbands like no thats a gm block guys would switch em out all the time, messed me up so i figured id confirm
 
WTF ! Gm block are you serious! If you can't figure that out you shouldn't be changing blinker fluid!lol
