EQ heads question

OK I have been reading alot about them and honestly if you want iron heads EQ heads are the way to go. But if your going to spend the money to have them ported and polished then get a set of stock replaclement factory Magnum heads and have them ported and polished the cost will be cheaper in the long run and the late model Magnum heads are a good place to start for a street build.

If you want to lighten the front end of your car then go with a set of Edelbrock aluminum heads and spend the extra money. It all depends on your needs, goals and desires..... and of course your budget for your build.

Apparently your not aware of the problem with the vast majority of OE Magnum heads cracking between the valves. I had a set off a 29,000 mile truck that already had a crack between a set of valves. Furthermore "out of the box" EQ's with small valves will flow as much as a mildly ported OE magnum head. IMO, if you didn't have any heads and had to acquire a set there's no logical reason you'd want to use a stock magnum head for a performance application since the EQ heads can be had so cheap and offer more performance right out of the box.
