Another member mounted his struts on the hinges and on the side panel down by the lower door hinge. I like this way as well.
Some more shots of the hard cover to come after the weekend...here's what I've been upto with the hood...this is temporary as this hood is to be replaced
I used a pair of 530mm gas struts of 400N force....they work well and hold the bonnet up from about 80% open...maybe 450 to 500N would be a little better if anybody else wants to do this!
