Front Right Brake Line
I am putting my car back together and my build has been geared for a street car with a few weekends a year drag racing. I am at the point where I need to run my brake lines. My 66 Dart with automatic trans is being converted from an all drum brake car to a front disc car. All old lines were removed and now I am installing the new lines. I have the 73 duster disc setup with the same year proportioning valve. I have made and installed the lines to a line lock and down to the proportioning valve which I mounted on the inside of the frame rail just below the drivers floor. Its time to make the line for the passenger side from the valve. Ive been reading about some drag tracks having issues about the line when its run in its factory location due to the possibility of flywheel/converter problems, So I thought its time to reroute this line now. Ive read about some moving it to run in front of the K-frame. With the headers on mine and the distance it would be I am thinking about running it from the proportioning valve back behind the torsion bar then following the crossmember to the other side. I could take it above the trans tailshaft so if the trans needed remove I wouldnt have to remove the brake line. It just looks like it would be easier to go back that way then up around the K-frame with the header interference. So what are your thoughts? Is this something that anyone else has done and is there any reason I shouldnt run it back there?
Thanks
