Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well the old saying of; "you can't teach an old dog new tricks" is all a bunch of BS...

I taught my dog how to eat corn right off the cob at the end of last year, and he's doing it now. He still remembers how to do it. And he's 9 1/2 years old, Dalmatian...

His instinct is to try to bite the cob whole. My dog likes to chew the fuzz of of tennis balls with just his little front teeth.

So I trained him on the command "small bites" so he uses just the front teeth and not try to bite the whole cob. I leave a row of kernels three deep all the way along the length of the cob. Then tell him "small bites" and he uses his small front teeth to chew the kernels off the cob... He will eat the whole row of kernels off the cob... He's getting the hang of it...

Dalmatians are very intelligent and can be trained to do almost anything, especially when there is extra food in the deal for them...

I'm sure that there are other breeds of dogs that can do that also. Some people don't give them as much credit as they deserve. If you talk to your dog regularly, they will start to understand. As he gets older, he keeps learning more and more...

I've seen some cases that prove that dogs can think, understand, and reason to solve problems...

I have to try to catch it on video and have one of the kids post it on youtube sometime...
