So I've seen a ton of pictures of the 64 Barracudas running a Valiant emblem just under the trunk lid of the passenger side, I know the history of the Barracuda and understand its part of the Valiant family. In fact my 64 Barracuda was registered in Las Vegas as a Valiant. I want to know witch Barracudas had the emblem, was factory thing or a dealer add on, should my car have it ?

My computer broke again so back to using just my phone to check, sorry for slow response and thank you for any information

I believe the emblem was on the 64 model. My 65 doesn't have a valiant emblem. Funny, but if I go to Napa they have the barracuda listed under the valiant.

In 1964, Barracuda's sold in the US. were Valiant Barracudas. In Canada, they were just Barracuda's, not Plymouth Valiants, as they were sold by both Plymouth and Dodge dealers.

I have junked a couple 64`s that did not come with it. As I understand it they were on the early build cars.

they were valiant/barracudas, and the emblem was early 64's.
I have drove valiant my whole life still driving 0ne 50years plus.
just my 2 cents.

Not quite. In Canada they were Valiant Barracudas in '64-'65 and just Barracudas in '66. The '64-'65 Valiants and Barracudas in the US had a PLYMOUTH badge on the front of the hood; Canadian units had a VALIANT badge in the same location and VALIANT letters on the deck lid. In '66, the US cars had PLYMOUTH callouts in those same locations, which were simply left off of Canadian units.

Great info guys, and thanks you. I was looking in the area on my barracuda and couldnt see anywhere holes were repaired if a Valiant emblem was ever on, so i doubt it. Was kind of hoping that i should have it. Ive had a few valiants, and actually buying another its a 1964 4 door slant 6 push button it will be for the wife. Well thanks again everyone and thanks for the info on the difference in the US and Canada cars, by chance do you know how i would be able to tell witch mine is ? Im gonna guess US but just to double check
