brake adjusters

I'm replacing my hardware on my rear brakes. In looking up parts I find a right and left adjuster. Whats the difference.? Can't they be just turned around and still work either way ? MOUSE:burnout:

The thread is in the opposite direction. You want the wheel to rotate "UP" to spread the shoes on each side. They are also asymmetrical.
