New engine running HOT

im struggling with you on this one. i just replaced my mildon 160 high flow thermostat with a new mr gasket 160 high flow. car will run 180 cruising soon as i stop it will start to climb. yours was overheating while running. what fans are you running?

160 is too cold. It will most likely stay open, defeating the purpose of a thermostat. It needs to be an open door, closed door EXCHANGE system.

Usually airflow at idle, I am running a MP viscous fan, and factory shroud. My rad is a hi efficiency copper/brass core(3/8" on center tubes as compared to stock is 1/2") and it also has a dimpled tube core.
