BTW, if you go waaaay back to some really old FSM's (in the early 60's and maybe further back), you'll find that the 160 F t'stats were used with the old alcohol based anti-freezes, and the 180F ones was for that 'new fangled' glycol based anti-freeze. (I have assumed that the lower temp was used with the alcohol based AF to keep it from boiling or evaporating away but that is just a theory.....)
