Project Riddler's Ride - 1976 Plymouth Duster

Well it's been a few weeks but I've gotten a few hours each night to work on the car. I'm getting the car ready for final paint as well as working with a company on a new engine harness. I'm hoping to have a big update after Sept. 15 showing off the harness and such.

I've been finishing up the sound deadener and had to wait for another box to come in. Finally I'm done and to do the complete car I needed three boxes which is roughly 100-120 sq/ft. I'll prolly buy mats or jute as well to go down before carpet.

Here's the pictures:

I went heavy on the fuel tank as I've always hated cars that the fuel pump would be louder than anything. I want to keep it quiet.

I then went around the car knocking on the panels to see where it was loud and the metal continued to ring after the knock.

The wheel wells on the back side were very loud.

Finally the package tray. I plan to install some speakers in here so lets quiet it down some.

I purchased a new custom steering wheel and had some trouble finding the proper hub. This is what I found that works with the stock column as well as my Budnick steering wheel.

It's a billet unit with leather. I'm still debating if I leave it polished or take it apart and have it and the hub powdercoated. I could black (gloss/matt or even a gunmetal)

Lastly the Hydroboost plan is out the door. I could of made it fit but that involved cutting the firewall again and moving the hydroboost over approximately an inch. Since it was painted already, I chose to sell the hydroboost and go with manual brakes.

Hopefully more updates will follow soon.....
