Blown Hemi Valiant from Oz .

"What size and backspace are your front and rear rims and tires? And what brand are you runnin for brakes?"

The front and rear wheels are 15 x 7 , but I got 275/70/15's squeezed onto the rear and 165/50/15 on the front . I wanted a big sidewall on the back . The brakes are made by Romac here in Australia , and sold through a company called UPC . They are really good quality parts . The calipers are huge ! Interesting brake set-up you linked. The hubs look very similar to our SBP Kelsey Hays. Are they the SBP or LBP?

How much for shipping to FL?

Seriously- I'd be interested in the story behind that rack and pinion setup.

The rack is from a mid-late 80's Australian family GM built sedan . Its quite a popular swap here because its very close in length so doesnt need much work to get in . Borgeson makes a uni for it with the correct spline and double d on the other end so you just machine a double d onto the steering column and hook it up . Couldnt be easier .

The brake kit im pretty sure is locally made . They do a bigger setup as well if you have bigger diameter wheels . And they are LBP. That was one of the reasons i put them on .

Just a little update picture . The engine and box are in . Took more work than anticipated , but finally its time to take it out for the last time and paint .

Hey all . I've been lurking around here for a while and just joined up recently . Im located in Brisbane , Australia . My project is a 1970 VG Valiant coupe . It's the same body as your '67 Dart . As you can see from the pics below I am stuffing an 8/71 blown 354 Hemi into the engine bay .

Hemi1.jpg

354 Hemi with 8/71 Blower Shop blower , Comp blower Cam , Ross pistons , 2 x Holley 950 blower carbs etc . All new and have done an initial run in on my stand .

Test fitting .

Nice new big front brakes to stop the beast !

Rack1.jpg

Steering rack from a local GM car adapted to fit .

Quarter.jpg

Big tires tucked in .

Dash1.jpg

Dash2.jpg

Dakota Digital 6 gauge dash fitted . I had to cut and extend the original bezel and cut the opening in the dash larger to fit . Lots of work but it looks really good and fits the size of the dash perfectly .

Wiring.jpg

Nightmare to come !

I will be putting in an all new black interior , and the car will be painted sublime with black trunk stripe and hood . I will try to keep everyone posted on my progress . If anyone has any suggestions to improve what I'm doing , I'd love to hear . Rob .

Hope to see it at Mopar Sunday In the near Future.

I'm just keen to know how much work was there in the blown 354 HEMI in the a body engine bay and if you know if the 392 fits with the taller deck height engine block because I'm keen to do something like your doing but with a 6/71 blower on the 392

Mate what a beast. That is going to be an awesome coupe.

Regards
Anthony
