Cracked the front U joint! Glad I have a loop! It was pretty bad. At least got the tikey truck figured out. Dropped the tank and the connector receptacle was really corroded. CLR and dielectric compound fixed that and the fuel sending unit is shot so time to change it and might as well put in a pump while it is out. I was surprised the tank was pretty clean considering the tang that was in it when I got it.

That's what I thought you were saying, but you said tuning carb... So you were driving it? I kiiled a project in a similar fashion many moons ago. 340/727 in a 71 cuda. Did not know history of tranny. Came with the engine. I rebuilt the engine, but did not work on the trans. First time on the road, got on it a little. Broke mount tabs btw engine and trans, tail off trans and through the drive shaft. :oops: Pissed me off. Got it home and parted the car out. The body left pretty much intact, so may still be alive somewhere. Just wish it was still in my driveway.:violent1:
