I'm thinking the mosquitos are coming and it's not going to be pretty. I haven't heard anything on the news and something tells me our county is not prepared to do anything.
If the water is agitated enough, the mosquito eggs/larvae can't survive. That's why they put the fountains in the ponds/lakes to make the water rough enough to kill them off.
My mom was on the neighborhood association board for her neighborhood and she used to see if the fountains were working in their lake. They ran them from sun up to sun down, and shut them off at night to save electricity (it can get $$$). Just running them during the day was enough to keep the mosquitoes from breeding...
Hopefully the flood waters will pull back fast enough to agitate and kill any mosquitoes...
