Stop in for a cup of coffee

I'm thinking about going to the Mecum auction again today with my uncle. I forgot my camera in my car yesterday and couldn't take any pictures while I was there. We saw some cool and interesting things there...

There are two cars that he's interested in, the 72 Roadrunner and a 71 Charger 440 6 pack car.

The Roadrunner has some issues, but it is not a 440 like the ad says, we think that it's the original 400. However the guy home wired it himself and the electrical wires run from the firewall, under the intake through the valley pan area, and then connect to the coil and distributor with crimp on electrical fittings. Then there is a nice puddle of oil in the back of the valley pan.

We found a few "wow's" in the paint and stripes.

They just tried to put a paint job on it and did not pay attention to details...

The Charger is much better condition, but is going on the auction block after the Roadrunner (like a few hours). I think the 71 Charger is much better and he should get that one if doesn't go for too much... But we don't know what price range it's going to go for, and he doesn't want to pass on the Roadrunner to find out that the Charger is more than he can spend....

Decisions, decisions...

I told him not to bid too high on the Roadrunner and then see if the Charger is in his price range, then if he wins both, sell the roadrunner and keep the Charger.

My brother may not be able to get there in time for the cars to be auctioned. It would be good to have him there, as he can spot body work from 50 paces... I'm the mechanical guru, he's the body guru in the family...

It would be cool to hang out with both of them today... We don't get to see much of each other lately. It was good to hang out with my uncle yesterday...

An employee said that they are broadcasting it on MSNBC, I may wear my Detroit Red Wings jersey to get all the Blackhawks fans panties in a bunch (you should hear some of their comments...) :poke:

Look for me in my jersey on tv in case they happen to catch me in a shot...
