Stop in for a cup of coffee

I'm thinking about going to the Mecum auction again today with my uncle. I forgot my camera in my car yesterday and couldn't take any pictures while I was there. We saw some cool and interesting things there...

There are two cars that he's interested in, the 72 Roadrunner and a 71 Charger 440 6 pack car.

An employee said that they are broadcasting it on MSNBC, I may wear my Detroit Red Wings jersey to get all the Blackhawks fans panties in a bunch (you should hear some of their comments...) :poke:

Look for me in my jersey on tv in case they happen to catch me in a shot...

My uncle had the winning bid on the 72 Roadrunner!

We bought it!!!!

Look for me in my Red Wings jersey on the rerun.

There was a guy bidding on another car about 10 cars before the Roadrunner was on the auction block that was a couple of seats away from us. I stood next to the bidding lady in my shirt and a camera guy was there, I may have gotten in the shot...

I'm not sure if they recorded the bidding on the Roadrunner as the guy wasn't in our face like the guys next to us. I was sitting next to my uncle when he won the bid.

That was at 1:00 PM and the auction started at 10:00 AM, so it's 3 hours into the auction... He was car # 93.1 (about 93rd in line for today's auction). You can watch for that number to come up on the broadcast.

He was going to travel to Texas when he saw that it was going to be there last month, but decided not to because of the distance and having to have the car shipped back here. Then he saw that it didn't sell there and was going to be up here, he took that as a "sign from god" that it was meant to be for him... (That's our story and what he's going to tell his wife...)

We were able to drive the car home right after he took care of the paperwork, luckily we drove together in the same car there and I followed him while he drove the Roadrunner home...

He only lives 20 minutes from where the auction was, so it worked out better for him as he saved on the shipping cost if he would have bought it in Texas and we were able to take it away as soon as he paid for it...

Here are the pictures of it at it's new home:
