1965 Dodge Dart 270 2 dr sedan

I didnt know 3 point belts were being tested in 1951. I know seat belts were optional in the US until i think 1964. Then lap belts became mandatory. My 66 coronet had factory lap belts. In 1968 3 point harnesses became mandatory. Mopars 3 point setup in 68 was pretty hokey. Such an afterthought nobody used them. These required you to buckle in the lap belt, then buckle the shoulder belt into a spot onto the lap belt. Still interesting history lesson. Volvo was always pushing safety it seems.
