1974 Dodge Dart Custom

After a bit of deliberation and hearing that we are having a 3rd child, I've decided that two Darts is a bit much as I keep trying to repair and work on both of them. I'm going to just focus on one. Then the money from this one is going to go towards buying a minivan.

I'm asking $1,800 (asking, offer) or would trade straight up for a late 90s Honda Odyssey or late 90s, early 2000s dodge caravan.

Asking $

I bought this car from a member a little less than a year ago. It has been a good car. My fiance' drives it from Benicia, Ca to Oakland, Ca almost every day.

Lets get to it starting from top to bottom.

-Will come with or without roof rack - won't affect price either way.

-Paint is... ya know painty. It's a roller job that looked nice for about a month, now it looks like... not so good. But don't worry, it didn't look much better before. Paint will need redone if you care.

-Front windshield trim is mostly missing, BUT I have bought it all and have it, I just could not figure out how to get past all the RTV the previous owner put on to seal it, and feared that it may leak if I remove it. Was a vinyl top car, but that was before I had it.

-Windshield wipers - work good, but the arm that attaches them is slightly lose on the driver's side. Can't reach to tighten it. Makes a clunk noise when they go left. Bothersome on the ears but not broken.

-Body in general - saw some surface rust in some spots when I investigated it, nothing really cancerous looking - and no holes that I could see. There are dents in various locations, but all are pullable I believe. I pulled one out because it was kind of big when I purchased it.

-Interior -
The carpet is just bad. Needs new. The headliner I replaced with a cheap home job using minimal bows, I now have all 5 bows, but again - this is work I seem to not have time for. Rear package tray crumbled apart, so it has some 6x9 speakers in there. yes they do function. Vinyl is all in really surprisingly good shape. Split seat front bench with no rips or tears, the color is just worn and dirty.

-Lighting - all functions. Dome light needs new bulb, cluster needs a few new bulbs as well.

-Speedometer - starts at 40mph. I feel like this is an easy fix, again - no time. So you subtract 40 and get your speed. I drive this car usually at 110 miles per hour on the freeway according to the speedo if you catch my drift.

-Amp gauge - bypassed non functional

-Temp gauge - Reads 120-140 when coolant is full. If it gets low, it will read 150-160. There may or may not be a thermostat in the car - I don't know. I dare not touch it because it's not overheating and i don't want to jinx it.

-Fuel gauge - Full at 3/4 of a tank. Empty somewhere below Empty. Don't know where it goes empty, haven't been ballsy enough to test it.

-A/C pump functions, all the controls work, but the system needs a recharge -no time

-Leaks:
=Power steering fluid - there's a kit in the car to fix it - have not done so yet...
=Coolant - This one's a mystery. Somehow once a month it becomes a couple quarts low. Slow leak somewhere. Again, doesn't overheat.
=Oil- I believe this one is due to the valve stem seals being pretty worn, doesn't really leak below the car much if at all.
=Transmission fluid - was low one time, it has never happened again, not sure what it

Stuff under the hood:

318CI
=Previous owner installed H.E.I. it works nicely. Car starts within the first few rotations when it's not cold.
=4bbl Edelbrock Aluminum manifold
=4bbl Holley 390, was rebuilt by P.o. no real issues. Sometimes stalls when choke isn't fully opened and revs drop, but that's avoidable if you let it warm up.
=Mopar finned valve covers
=GM alternator with bracket
=Probably some other mods, but I haven't done any of them and those are the most apparent to me.

Under the car:

=Previous owner replaced all brake lines with SS, and has discs up front
=Power brakes
=Rear springs sagged
=Front camber is wicked negative - possibly LCA bushing bad. Adjustment for camber is straight down, so it may be an adjustment issue.
=Toe also seems set inward. This is causing wear on the inside of tires.
=Rear tires are brand new -2k miles
=Shakes at 70mph due to front end adjustment wearing tires so they no longer balanced
=8 1/4" rear end. Unsure of gearing. P.o. did some kind of rebuild on that as well. Not sure what was done.

For the 4 door vultures:

This is an abridged ad for you:
-Big bolt pattern 8 1/4" rear end
-Big bolt disc brakes with control arms and spindles, the whole deal
-Rebuildable v8
-Holley 390

-Retractable seat belts
-Bumper jack

-Full glass set if you have a 4 door
-1974 Front Grill
-Radiator
-Trunk lid
-Hood
-Body panels,
-ETC

All in one package that delivers itself simply by getting in the car, and driving it to your house/shop/yard/etc...

I'd rather not part it out at this point because i have nowhere to put the car when it becomes non-operable. I would rather you make an offer on the whole thing, and then just not tell me that you plan to kill it - you may hint at it though, and don't tell my fiance for sure.

Again, "Asking" $1,800 come take a look, but I feel like I've covered quite a bit of the car's negatives. We drive this car all the time, so yes it does run and drive. Reg is also current.

Ask me for a picture of any part of the car and I'll get it on here for ya.
