1975 Dart SE Project (My Pro Touring -ish rat)

I grabbed a set of BFG's Radial TA 245/60/15's for the rear, and 205/60/15 up front.

Its nice and meaty, they are not the greatest tire... but they do handle much better than what I had to say the least!

I am starting to get thumbs up from people at gas stations at this point. People will stop to tell me stories of how a family member had a Dart or Valiant when I am at intersections or parking lots. It really is a great conversation piece. Everyone has a story about a Dart! Most of the time they explain that they wish they had seen the potential in them! They are right. What a great platform these cars are and they are damn near bulletproof!

Now for the time being I am in love with how it has come out... I really am!

But! I was sick of the sound of the exhaust. The car has a comp cam, and some work done to her. It is pretty quick and fun around town, but it sounds like a turd when it should sound mean. Stock 2" catless true duals straight piped to cherry bombs. If you have that setup, good for you. Yet, to me it sounded like an underpowered 1950's farm truck.

So I grabbed some 2.5" pipe, a Lawson 2.5" X Pipe

and ran a new exhaust system dumped at the axle.

This is how she sounds now!

As of 10/31/15 that is how she sits. I am always looking for new ways to bring her to a higher level of fun on a budget.

NEXT GOALS:

Short Term:
I am saving up to upgrade all four discs and calipers to Wilwoods, do full coilovers by hotchkis or similar design, a modern steering box, and some 18's in rear and 17's out front with sticky low profile rubber.

Mid Term: Get a 4 speed or 5 speed in the car, because though it is fun... nothing beats a clutch during the driving experiance.

Long Term: Collect the necessary parts to do a Blow Through carb with a single Borg Warner S475 or similar turbo.

Do the paint and body work correctly.

Track the car on weekends, drive her daily on week days during the summer months.
