On the bright side the new washer/dryer and water heater should be more efficient and save you some money to which can be applied to car parts:D. Appliances have always been a bane of my existence - currntly trying to work on a dryer duct that keeps clogging with lint. Rant- why cant they make a dryer that filters out ALL the lint?
