Cut/reweld cheap headers for better fitment?

I cut up a generic pair of 67-up headers and a drivers 5.2/5.9 ram/dak header and worked them into an early-a. Im not a big fan of headers anymore. I tucked them up AS CLOSE as I could and they still scrape, I cant ever get them to seal for any length of time and they wrap around both torsion bars, the column, and all the shift linkage. If I were to do it again Id buy a pair of tight tubes and modify the drivers side to fit. Honestly, it wasnt worth the few HP over nice quiet manifolds.
