904 transmission bolt up to 318

get the bell on the dowels and put in the two lower bolts ( not tight just on) and then without a crossmember, lower the rear of the trans but not too low so the distributor doesn't jam into the firewall. with the rear of the trans lowered, it should create a window to get to the upper bell bolts from under the car with a ratchet extension.

An A-body should have enough room between the firewall and engine to get them from the top as well, unless you have really big hands. I usually sit on the inner fender and get them from the top. (without a hood of course)
