8 point roll bar
When I put my roll bar assembly in I used an S & W kit. Never put one in before, am a welder of modest ability. Looked at others installations, got a few ideas and then went for it.
Upon recommendation from others, checked main hoop for square and twist, it wasn't square and it had some twist, easily corrected by somebody standing on one leg while I pushed, pulled, twisted on the other till it laid flat on the garage floor with no rock and tape measure said it was square. S & W supplied 6, 6x6 1/8 inch plates for mounting purposes, I went down to local steel distributor and bought 6 more plus some 2x6 strips.
For the main hoop, I set it kinda in position slipped the 6x6 plates under it, scribed around the plates so I could re position them after pulling out the hoop. Drilled mounting holes in the plates and thru bolted them to the floor pan using the additional plates, strips to sandwich the floor pan. Inside the car I also welded the plates to the pan, the hoop is a butt weld to the plate. The back bars intersected the structurals over the rear axle, on the back side of the arch, again plate, thru bolt, sandwich, weld. The short diagonals go between the hoop and the sub-frame connectors.
Just out of curiosity; what are you using for a welder?
