Stripped out the carpet/pad from my 65 Formula S (power brakes/power steering). Don't know if that was a factor or not, but I notice I can feel all the imperfections in the highway being transferred from the road to the steering wheel, gas pedal, and seat springs. Except over the very smoothest pavement, it's almost like a constant "massage". Were things this noticeable when new, or is there something worn out that I can refurbish to smooth out all the feedback I feel? Thank you.

It's possible you may have a tire beginning to separate. Check all 4 of them really well....

Replace those tires instant fix! Had that on my dd, couldn't figure it out. Tire place was having a sell so I bought new tires. Instant fix, the tire guy did point out my of tire was starting to seperate because of age. A tire is only really good for 6-7 years before the elements take there toll on them.

The OP did not describe a "shake",he described a hard ride, like he had too
much air in the tires of which the front appear to be relatively new. Those are larger
than OE tires up front, and the recommended pressures were usually lower than the
tires would hold to begin with.
