Father-Son 1974 Duster Project

Dash assembly looks sweet!
Yeah, the dash just came together out of nowhere. I was determined to get a tach in the dash somewhere. Had a few ideas many pages back about possibly cutting in the 2-1/2" tach where the idiot lights are in the cluster. I had a collection of bezels and gauges but wasn't loving any combo. I asked my buddy Al to stop by so I could get his opinion on a few things, mostly about what to do before the car is put into storage while I move and remodel my new house. When we got to the dash frame I asked his opinion on restoring the plastic chrome on the bezels etc. His idea to cut the radio portion off the heater control bezel just took off and then we discussed the tach location and the addition of the temp and oil pressure gauges. I liked the satin black out of the chrome on the bezels but all black was just too plain, so doing the wood grain overlays gave a nod to the 70's while still making it really simple. Then someone shamed me into getting my dash pad recovered. I think it will suit the car just fine.
