The mule car never did become a S&M car. I had the privilege of crawling in, around & through it when a local collector (Pat McGrodder) here in Phoenix owned it. It still had the wooden block used to move the master cylinder on it!
Anyway, since it seems we're on our own for now to discuss S/S cars, anyone ever see some of the "cheater" tricks used on S/S cars applied to these? What were they? Back in the day there really wasn't a whole lot you could do but I know someone, somewhere found SOMETHING. I know of a particular S/S car that had 100lb seats to make weight. The rules said the cars had to weigh "X" amount BUT they didn't say WHERE the weight had to be!:D
I also saw a car with its original Corning glass still in it. The owner actually got double thick "cat's whiskers" for the window channels to take up the space to minimize rattling which caused the thin glass to break.
These were just a couple of the "tricks" I've seen & learned during my hunt for a "perfect" S/S car.
