I forgot about my friend owning a Valiant wagon until I drove by it today. It's a pretty cool wagon being a factory 273/4 speed. He's a pretty tall guy so he put in some 66 bucket seats that I had (even the right color). Needs some rust repair though.

That's gotta be ultra rare. In 65 Dodge made 19 wagons with V8 and 4 speed!

that is a badd *** wagon. I wish I had it. He care to sell it?

I text him when I got home. He loves it because it can sit and immediately start up and go. The main reason that he bought it was the 4 speed. It's not for sale and that was the only pic I took.

In 1966 there should have been made 13 Valiant Wagons with V8 and 4-speed.
But I'm not sure about this number anyway.
I've read from lower (!!!) numbers also.

I own also one of them (..more in the member photo gallery).

Therefore I'm searching the net for these rare wagons over the last years and I have seen two others still in existence.

A white one - sold by Orlando Classic Cars some years ago.
A light yellow / cream one.

And now this red one.

Very, very low production car, thanks for sharing.

If I recall there were only 11 v8/4-speed 66 valiants from the factory...check my numbers though

The story he was told, a college professor ordered it to tow a camper in the summers.

The story of my Valiant wagon sounds similar:

The first owner ordered it with 4-speed, sure grip and disc brakes, because he was the owner of a cable railway in the Tyrolean Alps.

For him it was necessary to drive on narrow mountainroads even in the winter.

I got it, not for sale, but how much is it?

Sweet ride, I am sure it will command a good price whenever he does sell it. I just hope I am the one!

Interesting. There is a 66 valiant 4 door near here for sale with a 273, 4 speed also. Does anyone have production numbers on that one? I'm strangely interested in it.

I don't have production #'s but does it appear factory installed? Oval hole in floor hump for the Inland shifter, asphalt seller on the floor hump?

Turns out the wagon was for sale. It will be in my possession on Friday! I sold my 65 Dart wagon last week so naturally I had to fill the empty space in the garage. More pics and details to come...

It's pretty well optioned for a wagon. It's almost a Formula 'S' wagon! HD suspension including heavy torsion bars/leaf springs, front sway bar, 16:1 steering box (with sport steering wheel), 8 3/4 sure grip with 3.91 gears, 273/4 speed and 14" wheels.

Congratz!

And the options are really very similar to my wagon.
Do You have the broadcastsheet?

Here' s mine for comparison:

That would make a great resto mod car. 360 Magnum with the stock beer barrel fuel injection and a overdrive trans. Crusin at 80+ without it even breathing hard.
I want one!

That is quite a rarity. I agree no resto mod on that one.

Kind of interesting that plymouth loved grafting things on the back of the valiant. Big rear window; barracuda, canopy on the back of a 4-door; you get a wagon. Makes for an interesting design and a cool look.

great find! congrats! and I agree, NO restomod for sure. resto a piece of common something.... I will find a decent A body wagon one day.
