Tomorrow it is supposed to snow 10 in. Here and I am a courier that drives 300 miles a day. Usually I drive a Chrysler town and country (front wheel drive) but want to take my 4wd jeep tomorrow but I would most likely have to pull a 4x5 enclosed trailer if I take the jeep. My question is, would I be better off in fwd with no trailer or w4wd and small trailer. Nothing too heavy. It is in the mountains of eastern my by the way. Any advice is appreciated as I've been wondering this for a while but it has came decision time

Do the jeep then, you might get stuck with the fwd. You guys just had ice right? Come on over to the coffee thread we were just talking about this storm.
Yeah 4 inches of snow and I'm driving the van today but when it gets deeper than the bumper it doesn't wanna go, and I deliver blood and other medical stuff so it has to go no matter what. Never missed a delivery in 3 years
The bumper rule is what I would go by.
I would go with the jeep just to make sure. You never know how much is coming. Another thing to remember is to only have it in 4WD when you really need it otherwise when your front tires start to slide and you naturally let off the gas, your front tires will lock up and you loose all control.

Bring chains/cable with you, doesn't matter the vehicle.

Too late to help you for today, but here is something you might want to think about for the next time.
Pulling a trailer in snow can be dangerous, but trying to drive a van in deep snow can be a problem also.
If your jeep has a luggage rack make a box up or get a car top carriers to be able to carry all the stuff that doesn't fit inside on the top, or get a rack that goes into the trailer hitch and get some plastic totes and fill them and strap them on. Not sure what kind of jeep you have, but you might be able to get by without the trailer and much safer.

Short wheel bases, trailers and snow are a pretty crappy combination. (especially when stopping)
You would be safer in the heavier front wheel drive with a longer wheel base and no trailer.
Four wheel drive on snowy or frozen paved roads is over rated big time, and if something does happen you will be safer in the non Jeep.

have to agree - trailer on bad roads is dangerous. if it starts fishtailing you're going with it.
Do not ever use your personal vehicle for company use.
Reason #1 any accident is your responsibility, insurance wise.
Reason #2 I bet your insurance has a check box, pleasure or work vehicle, if it is for pleasure which about 99% of insurance coverage is, you are not covered if using it for work. So now 100% comes out of your pocket, insurance will not pay anything.

Update. Got it all in the jeep without the trailer and got there and back safely. Also I am an independent contractor so all vehicles are personal vehicles but my insurance knows what I do. Thanks for the advice all I knew I could count on some educated advice from you all
