Question on instrument panel wiring (72 Dart Swinger)

I'm doing gauges in my 74 swinger need to know what each of those wires are if anyone can help

The latest service manual you can download free is 73, either here at FABO or over at MyMopar

Since there is no free '74 download you really need to get busy and buy a reprint, either in paper or "on CD." However, the 73 will be accurate for some things

Here is an excerpt out of the 74 manual (I have one in paper) standby...........

Here's the wire pinout for 74. It is slightly different than 73, but start with the 73 manual. You will find that the wiring diagram layout is much much different than for the earlier models

The counterpart of the diagram below in the free 73 manual is on page 8-168 NOTICE that in that box it says "CI-14. THIS IS IMPORTANT. That is the connector number

If you go back to page 8-152 in the 73 manual, you'll see the index. "Pick something" such as "ammeter" which is in the cluster. Notice that says C3. Notice below it is fuel gauge says D7, and temperature, D7. These are "map coordinates" on the diagrams on following pages

EG go page after page until you find coordinates D7 That is on page 8-155 Find the oil and fuel gauges. Find the reference to "CI-14" which is directly below the TEMP gauge. Notice it says "G2-20V" THAT IS wire no G2-20V shown for the circular connector. It means "circuit number" G2, and it' s a number 20 wire, VIOLET in color

IF YOU LOOK on your PC board and compare the pin layout to the diagram of that circular connector, you will be able to follow the PC board trace of that pin to only one place.......directly over to one terminal of the TEMP gauge

Also below is part of page 8-155
