I imagine they would be less noisy, there's not quite the "ramp" to them that the larger cams have. It's honestly still hard to recommend a cam without knowing his static compression. I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere unless I missed it. But the "go to" comp is the XE268H. It's a good middle ground of torque and horsepower. Of course if he's under 9:1 then I would definitely point at a whiplash cam, those cams are known for helping low compression engines up their dynamic ratios and perform.
