Hi guys, just bought my first Mopar, a 1971 Plymouth Gold Duster as a rolling project. First time doing anything like this, im 21 and hope to restore the interior and get it painted.

My car is a 1971 Plymouth Gold Duster, imported last may from california. The previous owner had started to do a little bit here and there, got new wheels, tires, exhaust system and a few other small bits, as well as sand the car down and spray it, in a yellow primer mix. Its an automatic, and has a 318 V8 Engine that runs pretty well.

My Plans for the car is to gut the interior, replace the front bench completely as its in a pretty bad way, get a new carpet, dash pad and door cars. Im going to keep with the Gold Duster style, but instead of having it gold, im going to get it painted glossy black, with a black vinyl roof and a golden side stripe along the side.

Wow. This is neat. I just retired from a British pharmaceutical company. One of my former colleague's father was a auto mechanic who dabbled in classic restorations. I shared photos with him of my Duster project. He said he knew of Dusters from his father's restorations.
