Edelbrock RPM vs Edelbrock Victor (again)

Yeah, hard to go wrong with the RPM intake on anything that is mostly street driven. I learned that lesson years ago with the low deck 470 in my '65 Coronet. The RPM made a lot more torque which you could feel around town. The Victor made a little bit more top end power but the RPM would still beat it to the stripe since it came out of the hole stronger and recovered better after each gear change.

I learned later that the Victor can be helped out by using a carb with annular boosters. I have a custom built 950 carb with annular boosters and that carb will pick up roughly 50 ft-lbs of torque over a down leg style carb when used on a Victor type intake. So a Victor intake with the right carb can give you the best of both worlds but the average guy isn't going to get there. It takes some R&D $$$ to find combos like that.
