67 cuda FB progress UPDATE
Just a quick update here to keep my thread alive.
My back is still a mess. seems as soon as i'm feeling up to working again I suffer another setback. :protest:
My car is sitting in a friends heated shop waiting for him to return back from a family visit to Australia. He is going to do my exhaust for me. "Can't thank him enough"
I just wish he were back already as I miss looking at the car in my garage whenever I want to. He won't be back to do the exhaust for another few weeks or so. :wack:
On another note, I'm one Mopar down in my driveway as well. :banghead::banghead::banghead: My daughter suffered an accident and totaled the Stratus. This means I am also out several thousand dollars of my Barracuda funds bailing her out of a bad situation. She is a full time student paying her own way while working part time, so this means Dad needed to step in to help AND spend project money. The unfortunate part is I now am depleted of funds to purchase interior soft goods. I know setbacks are an all to common part of resurecting these cars but this is starting to feel like it'll never be ready for the road.
I did however, purchase her another Mopar of sorts. It's a Neon. She named it "DODGE VADER" I'll post up a few pictures in the next post as they are on my phone.
I changed the timing belt as the car was on borrowed time with 112,000 on the ticker.
Did the water pump, timing belt tensioner, new accessory belts and pulleys, cam seals, cam sensor, spark plug tubes re-seated, valve cover gasket, oil pad gasket, all new motor mounts and strut mounts, new brakes all the way around, new tires, new tail lights, major tune up, oil change, trans. fluid and filter change and fixed water leak's at just about every seal on the body. Now my back is hannered again and i'm out of money for the real project. :wack:
Oh well, what are fathers for. I also had to help my son with his little Nissan p'up. new throttle cable, brakes, clutch, throw out barring, pressure plate, slave cylinder, and a major tune up. At least he paid for his project. Since it's not a Mopar, I would have had a harder time with purchasing his parts. L.O.L!!!
