I bought new leaf springs, shackles, lower shock mounts and hardware. Looking for suggestions on how to protect these parts from rust and make them look good. I've read a lot about POR-15 and Eastwood rust encapsulator, but I think those may be overkill because these parts aren't rusted, they're new. Rustoleum has a truck bed paint and an undercarriage paint. Would either of those be a good choice? Please share your experiences. Thanks, Eric

You won't want to use por15 or Eastwoods as they typically need rusted surfaces to adhere properly. I always use vht high temp cast iron color paint and it's worked well

maybe rpm could work for you.I used it on the bare metal components and it
has held up fine ( one year )..but i only drive in nice weather.
..as for paint, most any of the rust paints would probably be fine

I just use semi-gloss engine enamel. It's not resto-correct, but seems to hold up well.

POR 15 has a product called Metal Prep that etches bare metal so the POR 15 will adhere. I used it on the frame rails of the Barracuda I owned.
