I was refurbing a steering wheel for the car and noticed that neither setup I have seems to have some sort of stand off spring to keep the center section from the horn switches. Looking at the wheel there appears to be a mounting point for 3 springs, does anyone know if there are supposed to be springs? Pic shows one of the three conical points I suspect are spring holders.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, those are spring pockets. It holds the center up and away and allows you to push on the center to activate the horn.

You should be able to find those at a good hardware store with the bins of springs, bolts etc. Take the steering wheel in with you to get the proper size. They are a medium weight spring. I lost one when I had mine apart and was able to find one that fit.

EDIT: If I recall they are about an inch long, maybe a hair more.

Thanks Bad Sport, Went down to the local independent hardware store that stocks a lot of oddball things the box places don't. Dug thru the cabinet and found

Hillman #127 Spring 29/32 length 3/8 OD

Fit like a charm
