SRT nameplate.

Having a bet with some non Mopar guys, when did the SRT nameplate come out? I am being told the SRT came out on a challenger in 1970. I'm pretty sure that's not correct. But I don't know everything, ha!

Non Mopar guys says it all. The R/T option goes back even further than the Challenger, so you might want to remind them that if they're gonna spout at least know the history.

The SRT badges denote the SRT Group, Chrysler's in house performance division, much like Ford's SVT. So, what are they thinking? That you could buy an R/T package 300 in 1970, too?

As for the options available in packages in 1970 there was the R/T, the SE (and those two could be combined) and the T/A, as well as a few lesser known option groups.
