Factory fuel pump
Everyone makes mistakes but you're too good to simply admit it and amend your applications for the good of this forum and your customers?
2004 and newer Hemi fp is 58psi without a doubt. 2003 isn't so clear. So, as a matter fact, I did looked up the 2003 Hemi calibrations and sure enough the injector characterization data is similar to the 2004. So this whole notion of "early-Hemi"= lower fuel pressure just doesn't hold water.
I'm thinking a Hemi in an A-body isn't crawling up over a rock just off idle, so maybe the fuel demands are slightly different, yes?
Again, I tune 400-600whp engines every day and losing 10psi of fuel pressure at WOT is a BIG deal to a calibration. Again, if an aftermarket EFI is used, the lower PSI is not a big deal unless the injectors are over 80% duty cycle....But if the STOCK PCM is used, imo, it's an unacceptable mistake.
I have full PDF copies of factory service manual for the 06 LX, 04 DR Ram, 03-04 PL and PT. They're all stored on my Google drive if anyone wants a copy, just say so. Here's the 2004 Ram's Powertrain Diagnostic manual which I posted pics of teh pressure spec 58psi +/-5psi:
btw: Might want to 2nd guess your source, it seems to have trouble with a simple unit conversion,,,34Kpa is ~5psia not 2,,, always has been
