11.75" slider brake caliper brackets
I have a set and they seem to be very well made. Will have no worries to run these on my car.
Im surprised more people don't buy them instead of paying the crazy prices of eBay and others on this forum
I'm sure the Right Stuff spindles looked very well made too.
Mind you, I'm not questioning DrDiff's products, I'm just less inclined to run a reproduction of a niche part when the originals are out there by the bucketful. I know that the original Chrysler part has been tooling around on various cars since the '70s without any word of failure, which gives me peace of mind.
By comparison, the repop isn't going to be used in large numbers by average daily drivers as were the originals. Thus, if there is a weakness in manufacturing, it's not likely to make itself known. Case in point, everybody was perfectly happy with the Right Stuff spindles until someone's spindle cracked while the car was parked.
If it wasn't for that discovery (who would have realized the spindle caused the loss of control leading to an accident if it had cracked at high speed, particularly if the front end was totaled?), we'd all still be running around in blissful ignorance of a potentially life-threatening manufacturing defect.
Call Cass at DrDiff, I'm sure he'd be more than happy to tell you where his caliper brackets are made. You're not going to find an original set for less than what he sells the repop's for.
One more thing to do somewhere between the 8:30-5:00 work week, but sure - I'm going to ask.
EDIT: Brain fart. Email will do just fine. Sent.
As for finding a set cheaper than repops - I don't believe in that. Parts will go for dirt cheap here, on eBay, on Craigslist, and anywhere else parts are sold. You just have to be there for it (not that hard with eBay's saved searches) or simply ask. Case in point, that pile of small block Chevy parts were practically shoved in my arms for a price that would barely cover the cost of a new cam, complete with that Jesel timing belt.
