The real trick to flipping cars is to understand that everyone thinks they can do (or get done) mechanical work...but paint and upholstery is a complete mystery to them.

Take an marginally running car and slap a paint job on it and dress up the interior and they will pay you handsomely.

To be honest, most folks who want to own a vintage car just want it to look good (shinny paint and fresh seat covers and carpet) They couldn't really care less about the mechanical part.

When I had my Upholstery business, I would buy up old cars, slap on a cheap paint job (Maaco was my friend), replace the vinyl top and put in seat covers and carpet and double or triple my money. I did it dozens of times and made thousands in the process.
