Early 2000s magnum and 5 speed swap

So I have been thinking. I have a 69 Dodge Dart with a 225 3 speed automatic. I would like to do a v8 swap. I was looking around trying to decide what to put in it. Then I heard about guys swapping in 5.9 magnum engines and I remembered my dads 99 Dakota with a 5.9 magnum and a 5 speed manual. So do you think that rebuilding the engine and then swapping it in my dart (with the 5 speed trans) is a good idea/ cost effective.
