I had a 79 super six in my 79 Volare wagon. I had A/C (factory) and it did not use an aft mounted pulley.

Yeah, it almost certainly did.

It had the front pulley, but I don't recall if it powered the A/C or the power steering

The front pulley drove the power steering.
