It also could have been a late year 1969 model with blacked out dash trim too. I have seen more unusual stuff from Ma Mopar before. The silver dash pic cawley just showed could have been an early 69, built with a leftover 68 dash bezel.
I actually own a 1988 daytona shelby z with a factory airbag. There is nothing in dodges 1988 factory manuals for repair, or mtx on this, turns out 1266 daytonas at the end of 1988 scooted out the factory with an airbag, then all 1989s except european export had them.
I'd still remove the barracuda emblem and look for spots of silver paint underneath. I bet a prev owner painted it, and if not it could have been a mid year to late year build. Either way silver or black it would look good.
