For my first transmission rebuild I got a 1968 A904 from a junkyard, so I don't know the history. Pan rail is PK2892080Z 2621 3994. Been reading lots of threads, this site is a wealth of information.
First, is there supposed to be a flat steel washer between the rear planet and ring gear? There is a machined pad on the ring gear, red dot, but no washer present on the forward or rear planets. They are aluminum with 4 pinions.
Second, is there an off the shelf bearing driver for the reverse drum? It measures 2.05 od and 1.95 id, I don't seem to have a driver that size, have the harbor freight 10 piece and the other one that goes up to 1 3/8.
Anyone ever use one of these? ATI TF904 Output Shaft Bearing Kit #904207,
ATI Racing Transmissions - Chrysler Torqueflite TF904 Drag Race Transmissions , Do they work better than the fiber washer?
Thanks,
Robert
